Ms. Rashmita Jha, IRS, Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of THDCIL & NTPC, visited TUSCO Ltd., Lucknow on 15th July 2025 and chaired a Review Meeting of Solar Projects being implemented by TUSCO Ltd. TUSCO Ltd., which is a joint venture of THDC India Ltd. and Uttar Pradesh New & Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) with an equity partnership in the ratio of 74:26 respectively, is engaged in the development of large-scale Renewable Energy projects across U.P. with a focus on sustainability and clean energy generation.
The Review Meeting was held in the form of a Presentation made by TUSCO Ltd. The presentation encompassed the status and progress of three Solar Parks of TUSCO, namely - 600 MW at Jhansi, 600 MW at Lalitpur and 800 MW Solar Park at Distt. Chitrakoot, all in the Bundelkhand region of U.P. These three Solar Projects have been allotted to TUSCO Ltd. by MNRE in line with mode-8 of MNRE Guidelines of Ultra Mega Renewable Energy Power Parks (UMREPP). The status put up in the meeting highlighted the significant progress achieved w.r.t procurement of Land at all the three Solar Parks (Jhansi almost 100%, Lalitpur 88.2% and Chitrakoot 92% Land respectively), ongoing infrastructure works- both civil and internal power evacuation works in the solar parks and engagement of Solar Project Developer (SPD) for each of the three Solar Parks. The completion schedule of all the three Solar Parks, as mandated by MNRE, is March, 2026. The presentation also addressed challenges being faced at the Projects and the way forward for their timely and efficient execution.
It was also highlighted during the presentation that TUSCO Ltd. is also in the process of implementing a 1200 MW off-stream closed loop PSP in Sonbhadra Distt., UP. Presently, tenders are being invited for DPR preparation for this PSP Project.
The presentation was given under the overall direction of Sh. Manoj Sardana, (CEO), TUSCO Ltd. The meeting was attended by all Heads of Departments (HODs) - Sh. A.P. Vyas, AGM (Solar), Sh. V.P. Mathur, AGM (Fin.), along with the three Project In-Charges - Sh. U.B. Singh, AGM (Solar), Jhansi, Sh. A.K. Duggal, AGM (Solar), Lalitpur and Sh. J.N. Singh, DGM (Solar), Chitrakoot Solar Projects. Sh. S.K. Arya, Dy. CVO, THDCIL and Sh. Apurv Kumar, Manager (Vigilance) also attended the meeting.
The CVO appreciated the sincere efforts made by Team TUSCO leading to the progress made till date. She also guided TUSCO Team and suggested various practical way forwards for achieving the desired progress. It was specifically highlighted by CVO that implementation of Vigilance activities, which is a parallel management administration function, has now a strong focus on Preventive Vigilance and is committed to ensure its fullest support to project implementation team for achieving the Organisational objectives in a transparent manner. Her words of encouragement were a source of motivation for the entire team.
