A multi-agency mock drill on "Rescue in River" was successfully conducted on 23.11.2024 at the Helang Dam site of Vishnugad-Pipalkoti Hydro Electric Project (VPHEP) to reinforce emergency preparedness and safety measures. The collaborative exercise was led by THDCIL’s Safety Department & Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) in association with the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and the local police.
The drill commenced at 11:30 AM, showcasing comprehensive rescue and evacuation operations. Participants demonstrated swift coordination in cordoning off the area, rescuing individuals, and ensuring immediate medical assistance. The mock drill underscored the importance of synchronized efforts during emergency situations, emphasizing the readiness of agencies to handle river-based contingencies effectively.
Post-drill, the SDRF team showcased their specialized emergency equipment, explaining the functionalities and applications of each device. This hands-on demonstration aimed to enhance the awareness and capabilities of all participants in managing real-life emergencies.
