Shri Bhupender Gupta, Director(Technical), THDCIL visited KSTPP, Khurja on 09.05.2025. He was welcomed by Sh. Kumar Sharad, ED(Project) and all the employees. He reviewed the progress of the project and was satisfied with the progress. He appreciated the contribution & dedication of all the employees & other associates who are associated with the project.
Shri Gupta, Director (Technical), THDC inaugurated the Stacker cum Reclaimer-2 today on 09.05.2025 at KSTPP, Khurja. In a major milestone for Khurja STPP and a significant step forward in enhancing the readiness of the Coal Handling Plant (CHP), Stacker-cum-Reclaimer-2 was inaugurated. It has successfully demonstrated its capability to stack and reclaim coal at rated capacities of 1600 and 2000 Metric Tons per Hour (MTPH), respectively.
This development will enable the utilization of the full storage capacity of the stockyard, which is designed to hold 3,000,000 metric tons of coal—sufficient to meet the requirements of two units at Khurja STPP for approximately 20 days. With both stacker and reclaimer now operational, simultaneous stacking and reclaiming of coal is possible, thereby increasing system redundancy. Additionally, it will support coal feeding to the bunker of Unit-02 alongside Wagon Tippler-02, which is already in service.
All technical and operational parameters were successfully met, including the boom of the stacker achieving a slew angle of 110 degrees on either side of the 12B conveyor, along with successful luffing and travel operations.
This milestone completes the entire set of activities from the Wagon Tippler Complex-2 to Stacker Cum Reclaimer-2 increasing the system reliability by ensuring continuous Coal feeding to Bunkers along with already operational Wagon Tippler-01 and Stacker Reclaimer-01. This is a major step towards the commissioning of the # Unit 2 of Khurja STPP and reflects the readiness of the complex to manage the demanding requirements of coal handling and sets the stage for subsequent operations.
During the visit and inauguration Sh. Kumar Sharad, ED(Project), Sh.RM Dubey, GM (Electrical), Sh. Binod Kumar Sahoo, GM (O&M), Sh. Shailesh Dhyani, AGM (Mech.), Sh. Sandeep Bhatnagar, GM(F&A), Sh. Mukul Sharma, DGM(TG) other Sr. Officials & Officials of L&T, TKIL and BHEL were present.
