The 77th Republic Day of India was celebrated with patriotic fervour at the Vishnugad–Pipalkoti Hydro Electric Project (VPHEP) Unit of THDC India Limited. The Head of Project (VPHEP), Sh. Ajay Verma, unfurled the National Flag at the Administrative Premises of VPHEP in the presence of officers, employees, and stakeholders.
On this auspicious occasion, the Chairman and Managing Director, THDC India Limited, Sh. Sipan Kumar Garg, addressed all employees of THDCIL posted across various units and projects through an online mode. In his address, he highlighted THDCIL’s significant contribution to nation building and strengthening India’s energy security. He encouraged employees to continuously upskill themselves and serve the organization with dedication and commitment in the national interest.
Addressing the gathering, Sh. Ajay Verma, Head of Project (VPHEP), underlined the historical and constitutional significance of Republic Day. He shared the progress of the Vishnugad–Pipalkoti Hydro Electric Project and emphasized its strategic importance in ensuring the nation’s energy security. He appreciated the sincere efforts and dedication of all employees who continue to work tirelessly despite the challenges posed by the project’s remote and difficult Himalayan terrain.
The celebration was further enriched by vibrant cultural performances presented by students of local schools and employees, adding colour and enthusiasm to the occasion. Winners and runners-up of various inter-departmental sports tournaments were felicitated during the ceremony. Performers of the cultural programmes, including school students and their teachers, were also honoured for their commendable performances.
The event was attended by senior executives of THDC India Limited, including Sh. K.P. Singh, General Manager (TBM/PH/S&E); Sh. R.P. Mishra, General Manager (Dam); and Sh. Ravindra Singh Rana, General Manager (EM), along with officers and employees of VPHEP.
