Underlining the commitment of THDC India Limited towards the welfare of workers, on the occasion of International Labor Day (01.05.2024), better health of the workers participating in the construction of the 444 MW Vishnugad-Pipalkoti Hydroelectric Project located in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand was prioritized. With the objective of enhancing their morale, productivity, and strengthening the community relations of workers with the Corporation, the HR & Administration Department of VPHEP organized a Free Medical Checkup Camp for all workers today at HCC Office Complex, VPHEP, Pipalkoti. Chief General Manager (Project) of VPHEP, Shri Ajay Verma, inaugurated the medical check-up camp for the laborers by getting his blood pressure checked. Along with him, Shri K.P. Singh, Additional General Manager (Incharge) – TBM and Power House, Shri P.S. Rawat (Additional General Manager (Incharge) – Dam), Shri J.S. Bisht (Additional General Manager (In-charge) – Environmental and Mechanical), Shri V.D. Bhatt (Senior Manager-HR & Adm.), and HCC Project Manager Mr. Sajit Kumar also got their health checked. In the camp, THDCIL Medical Officer, Dr. Shekhar Yadav, and his team, after proper investigation of the health-related problems of the workers, provided necessary consultation and medicines for the treatment of the disease. Addressing the workers, Project Head, Mr. Ajay Verma, wished and congratulated the workers on International Labor Day. He said that it is an important contribution to the innovation and development of the country. Praising the workers engaged in the construction of the VPHEP project, he said that they are not doing any ordinary work; they are making an important contribution towards the country's clean energy goals and energy security. As a token of our gratitude for your service, this health camp is being organized to ensure your well-being. Please everyone take advantage of this. Along with this, he appealed to all the workers to take special care of safety while working and to work only by wearing all safety equipment. On this special occasion, Shri Y.S., member of the organizing committee of the health check-up camp, Chauhan (Deputy Manager), Mr. Avinash Kumar (Executive Trainee) from Public Relations Department, Mr. Ankit Kumar Jha (Executive Trainee), and senior officials of HCC were present. Mr. Durga Das Mandal (Deputy Manager, Paramedical), Mr. Girish Purohit (Nursing Assistant), and Mrs. Chandrakala Hatwal (ANM) were present in the camp from the dispensary department.
