Construction work for a modern 50-bed hospital building for Swami Vivekanand Charitable Hospital in the Vishnugad-Pipalkoti Hydro Electric Project (VPHEP) affected area, Chamoli, has commenced. The foundation stone for the new hospital building was laid during a ceremonial Bhoomi Pujan program held near Semaldala Ground on 15th January 2025. The hospital will be built at an estimated cost of approximately ₹35 crore.
On this occasion, representatives of THDC India Limited, Mr. J.S. Bisht (General Manager, Mechanical, Social, and Environment) and Mr. K.P. Singh (General Manager, TBM), participated in the program.
In his address, Mr. J.S. Bisht stated that as a responsible corporate citizen, THDC India Limited is not only engaged in project construction but is also actively contributing to the social and economic development of the affected areas. He said, “We are extending all possible support to modernize and upgrade Swami Vivekanand Charitable Hospital to provide better healthcare facilities to the citizens of this region.”
Project Head, Mr. Ajay Verma, appreciated the efforts of the social development team and remarked that the construction of this hospital will provide high-quality healthcare services to the local community. He expressed his delight, saying that this initiative will be a milestone in the region's healthcare development.
