Rishikesh, 25 September, 2025: Reinforcing its commitment to inclusive growth and sustainable development, THDC India Limited, a Mini Ratna public sector undertaking has rolled out a series of initiatives under the nationwide “Swachhata Hi Sewa Campaign–2025”.
Sh. R. K. Vishnoi, CMD, THDCIL emphasized that cleanliness and sustainability are integral pillars of the Corporation’s ethos. He underlined that THDCIL, beyond being an integrated Power Generation entity, is committed to ensure that its growth remains inclusive and aligned with national missions such as the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Sh. Vishnoi further observed that Swachhata is not merely an activity but a collective responsibility that embodies the Corporation’s vision of cleaner and greener India.
Sh. Sipan Kumar Garg, Director (Finance), had earlier, on 17th September 2025, administered the Swachhata Pledge at the Corporate Office, Rishikesh, urging employees to dedicate one hour of voluntary service towards cleanliness under the nationwide call of ‘Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath’. Acting on his call, employees across THDCIL actively participated in the Shramdaan observed today, along with a series of other initiatives under the Swachhata Hi Sewa Campaign–2025.
As part of the nationwide Swachhata campaign, the “Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Sath” initiative was organized at the NCR Office premises, Kaushambi in the esteemed presence of Ms. Rashmita Jha, Chief Vigilance Officer (IRS), THDCIL. Employees of the NCR Office actively participated in the initiative. The event fostered a sense of unity and reinforced cleanliness as a shared responsibility. Sh. Neeraj Verma, ED (I/C, NCR), Sh. S. K. Arya, Dy. CVO and other senior officers of NCR office, THDCIL were also present during the occasion.
At Rishikesh, THDCIL organized a Cleanliness Drive on 24th September 2025 in the vicinity of the New Bus Stand. The event was graced by Sh. Shambhu Paswan, Hon’ble Mayor of Rishikesh, who commended THDCIL’s proactive efforts in promoting cleanliness and contributing to Sustainable development. Dr. Amarnath Tripathy, Chief General Manager (HR), Sh. Harsh Kumar Jindal, GM (S&E), Sh. A. K. Kansal, GM (Services), Sh. R. K. Verma, GM (Commercial), along with other officers of the Corporate Office, Rishikesh, were also present during the event. The identified location has been formally adopted by THDCIL as a Cleanliness Target Unit (CTU), which will be maintained on a regular basis by the Corporation to ensure a cleaner and healthier environment for the citizens of Rishikesh.
In addition to this, THDCIL organized a series of events across its projects and offices as part of the Swachhata Hi Sewa Campaign–2025, including a Prabhat Pheri by school students at Khurja, a Poster Making and Best from Waste Exhibition at Tehri, a Cleanliness Drive at the VPHEP Office, and a Health Camp organized by the VPHEP Dispensary. These initiatives reflect THDCIL’s ongoing commitment to community engagement, student awareness, and promoting sustainable practices.
