1.    Investment approval amounting of Rs.14105.83Cr for implementation of Kalai II Hydroelectric Project (1,200 MW), located in Anjaw District of Arunachal Pradesh, has been accorded to THDC India Limited by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) in April 2026.

 

2.    THDCIL signed an MoU with the Department of Energy, Government of Maharashtra (GoM), on 03.09.2024 for harnessing pumped storage energy through six Pumped Storage Projects (PSPs) in Maharashtra, with a total installed capacity of 6790 MW.
In addition, two PSPs with a cumulative capacity of 2,600 MW have been entrusted by NTPC to THDCIL for implementation. DPR preparation for six projects is currently under process.

 

3.    THDCIL has also signed an MoU with MAHAGENCO Renewable Energy Limited (MREL), Maharashtra, for the development of new-age renewable energy projects such as Green Hydrogen and Green Ammonia, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Hybrid Solar, Solar, Floating Solar, Wind and Offshore Wind projects, as well as self-identified Pumped Storage Projects (PSPs). 
After modification in approved JVA it is mutually agreed to focus for establishment Pumped Storage Projects (PSPs) only.

 

4.    THDCIL has signed the MoU on 10.03.2025 with Govt. of Chhattisgarh & Chhattisgarh State Power Generation Company Ltd. (CSPGCL) for development of Pumped Storage Based Hydro Electric Power Project 1400 MW at Dangari, District-Jashpur in Chhattisgarh state in JV mode. DPR is being prepared by Chhattisgarh State Power Generation Company Ltd. (CSPGCL).

 

5.    THDCIL has formed three joint ventures—namely TUSCO Ltd., for the development of 2,000 MW solar parks in Uttar Pradesh, TREDCO Rajasthan Ltd., for the development of 10,000 MW solar park in Rajasthan, and TUECO Ltd. for harnessing the untapped hydropower potential in Uttarakhand, respectively.

 

In addition, some more projects are under various stages of business development
