Amelia Coal Block is located in District-Singrauli of Madhya Pradesh. Amelia Coal Block has been re-allocated to THDC India Limited vide Allotment Order dated 17.01.2017 by Govt. of India, Ministry of Coal, to meet out fuel requirement of Khurja STPP (1320 MW) in Distt. Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh located at a distance of 856 km from Amelia Coal Mine via rail route.
        Commercial Operation Date (COD) of this captive Mine for Khurja STPP has been successfully achieved on 18.02.2025. Amelia coal mine is being operated in MDO mode by M/s Amelia Coal Mining Ltd (ACML). Approximately 61.10 lakh tons of coal has been extracted so far, 44.37 lakh tons of coal dispatched to NTPC plants and 14.40 lakh tons of Coal to end use plant Khurja STTP. Presently, Coal is being transported from Coal Mine to temporary Railway siding at Deoragram through dedicated Road in Coal Evacuation Corridor.

Amelia Coal Mine having Net Geological Reserve of 162.05 MT (Extractable Coal Reserve of 139.48 MT) will fulfill the fuel requirement of Khurja STPP (1320 MW) at Khurja.

Allotment Agreement The Allotment Agreement between Ministry of Coal & THDC India Ltd has been signed on 15.12.2016.
Allotment Order Allotment Order of Amelia Coal Mine has also been issued to THDCIL on 17.01.2017.
Investment Approval CCEA accorded investment approval at an estimated cost of Rs. 1587.16 Cr. (Dec-17 PL) on 07.03.2019.
Forest Clearance Stage-II Forest Clearances for 843 Ha. forest land accorded by MoEF&CC, GoI on 15.02.2021.
Mining Plan Revised Mining Plan has been approved on 13.03.2020 by MoC.
Land Entire 1412.37 Ha Land of Amelia Coal Mine has been handed over to THDCIL.
Environmental Clearance MoEF&CC accorded approval for grant of transfer of Environmental Clearance (EC) to THDCIL on 03.08.2021.
Mining Lease Mining Lease was sanctioned by Mineral Resource Department, GoMP on 16.08.2021. Mining lease deed signed between THDCIL & District Collector, Singrauli on 24.08.2021.
Mine opening permission Granted by CCO, Kolkata (MoC) on 15.02.22.
Appointment of MDO Mine is being operated in MDO mode by M/s Amelia Coal Mining Ltd.
Power Supply Connection Agreement for Connection of 8 MVA HT Line has been executed between THDCIL and MPPKVVCL on 02.05.2020.
Land for CEC & Railway Siding Approx. 26.70 Ha Govt., Forest & Private Land has been acquired for Coal Evacuation Corridor of 25 m width & Railway Siding.
Opening of Mine Mine has been opened on 17.11.2022
Coal Production Coal extraction has been started from 18.02.23.
