Chamoli, Uttarakhand, 26th January 2025: The Vishnugad Pipalkoti Hydro Electric Project (VPHEP) of THDC India Limited celebrated the 76th Republic Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit. The celebration commenced with the unfurling of the National Flag by Sh. Ajay Verma, Head of Project (HoP), VPHEP. He also inspected an impressive parade presented by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), led by Inspector Subhash Prasad Bhatt.
On this significant occasion, Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of THDC India Limited, Sh. R.K. Vishnoi, hoisted the National Flag at the Corporate Office in Rishikesh and addressed employees across all THDCIL units through a live video broadcast. Extending his Republic Day greetings, Sh. Vishnoi lauded the remarkable progress achieved at VPHEP. Highlighting that 65-70% of the project work has been completed, he emphasized the outstanding performance of the Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM), which is setting benchmarks in the industry. He noted that VPHEP’s TBM operations have become a learning hub for other projects facing challenges in similar operations.
Following the CMD's address, Sh. Ajay Verma addressed VPHEP employees, expressing gratitude for the special recognition of VPHEP's achievements in the CMD’s message. He said, "This acknowledgment is a great honor for us. Our collective efforts have brought us significant progress on all fronts. It is now imperative to maintain this momentum to ensure the timely completion of the project, contributing to the nation's clean energy goals and strengthening our commitment to a self-reliant India (Aatmanirbhar Bharat)."
The celebration was marked by a series of cultural and sports programs. Students from three schools in the project-affected areas—Junior High School, Siyasain; Government Primary School, Jaisal; and Saraswati Shishu Mandir, Pipalkoti—mesmerized the audience with their vibrant cultural performances. Adding to the celebratory spirit, awards were presented to the best-performing contractual employees of VPHEP, recognizing their dedication and contributions to the project’s success.
