Pipalkoti, Chamoli | 12 July 2025, The Vishnugad-Pipalkoti Hydro Electric Project (VPHEP), a unit of THDC India Limited, celebrated the 38th Foundation Day of the corporation with great fervour and enthusiasm at its project premises in Pipalkoti. The event witnessed active participation from officers, employees, school students, and local stakeholders, reflecting the spirit of unity and progress.
The celebration commenced with the flag hoisting ceremony by Shri K.P. Singh, General Manager (TBM/Social & Environment), who was the Chief Guest for the occasion.
On this occasion, THDCIL Chairman and Managing Director Shri R.K. Vishnoi addressed all units of the corporation through a live video broadcast from the corporate office in Rishikesh. In his message, Shri Vishnoi highlighted the importance of teamwork and expressed satisfaction over the corporation’s continuous growth. He called upon employees across all projects to remain united and work towards taking THDC to newer heights.
Addressing the VPHEP employees on this occasion, Shri Singh lauded the commitment and hard work of VPHEP employees, stating that it is through their dedication that THDCIL has established itself as a trusted name in the energy sector. He encouraged the team to continue working with cooperation and integrity to achieve greater milestones.
Adding a cultural vibrancy to the event, students from Saraswati Vidya Mandir, Pipalkoti and Saraswati Shishu Mandir, Mayapuri presented mesmerizing performances that captivated the audience. The THDCIL management at Pipalkoti felicitated the participating students and their mentors, acknowledging their talent and contribution.
The Foundation Day also brought recognition to the achievements of VPHEP employees and their families through various awards announced by the corporation. These include:
• Gaurav Award: Shri Ajay Verma, Chief General Manager (Project), received the highest employee recognition for his exemplary contribution to the corporation’s growth.
• Best Employee Reward: Shri Rakesh Bansal (Manager, TBM) in the Executive Category and Shri Deepak Shah (Assistant) in the Workman Category were honoured for their outstanding work performance.
• Innovation Award (2nd Prize): Shri Tanmay Shivhare (Assistant Manager, CGM Office) was recognised for his innovative contributions.
• Housekeeping Award (2nd Position): VPHEP secured second position for the maintenance and cleanliness of the Guest House and Field Hostel.
• Meritorious Student Award: Master Anamya Kumar, son of Shri Ajay Kumar (AGM, G&G), received the first position in the Engineering Category.
The event concluded on a high note, with employees reaffirming their commitment to the organisation’s goals and expressing pride in being part of THDC’s journey.
