Daswana, Chamoli | March 24, 2025 As part of its commitment to public health, the Vishnugad-Pipalkoti Hydro Electric Project (VPHEP) of THDC India Limited organized a Breast Cancer Awareness Session in Daswana village, Chamoli. The initiative aimed to educate rural women on the importance of early detection, preventive care, and access to timely medical treatment for breast cancer.
Dr. Nikita Sharma, Senior Medical Officer (Dispensary), conducted the session, explaining the symptoms, risk factors, and basic screening methods for breast cancer. She also highlighted the significance of general health awareness, emphasizing early diagnosis and lifestyle modifications to prevent serious illnesses.
Underlining the importance of this initiative, Sh. Ajay Verma, Head of Project (VPHEP), stated - "We are committed to spreading awareness about lifethreatening diseases such as cancer. This initiative is a step towards empowering rural women with knowledge about early detection and timely treatment. THDC India Limited remains dedicated to promoting community health through such impactful programs."
Field Officer (Social) Ms. Abhijita Sahu, Social Worker Mrs. Neelam, and Mrs. Rameswari Hatwal actively participated in the program, addressing attendees' queries and promoting better healthcare practices. The session saw an encouraging participation of local women, reinforcing THDCIL’s efforts in community welfare.
