A full-scale mock drill simulating an armed terrorist attack was successfully conducted on 16 April 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:40 AM at the Administrative Building of THDC India Limited’s Vishnugad-Pipalkoti Hydro Electric Project. The exercise was led by Shri Vishwanath Avuti, Deputy Commandant, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).
This critical emergency preparedness exercise involved the active participation of CISF personnel, employees posted at VPHEP, the project’s internal security team, and the medical unit of VPHEP Hospital. The objective of the drill was to evaluate the readiness and coordination among all stakeholders in responding to a high-risk situation involving a potential terrorist intrusion within the project premises.
Following the drill's successful conclusion, Shri Vishwanath Avuti, Deputy Commandant, CISF, conducted a debriefing session. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Ajay Verma, Head of Project, VPHEP, commended the efforts of CISF and all support teams. He stated, “Such mock drills are vital for strengthening our preparedness against any potential security threats. I appreciate the professionalism and swift coordination demonstrated by CISF, the internal security team, and all supporting departments. This drill showcases the robust emergency response framework we have in place at VPHEP, which is essential for the safety and security of our critical infrastructure.”
