THDC India Limited (THDCIL), a premier Public Sector Undertaking in the power sector, has commenced the observance of Swachhata Pakhwada 2025 from 16th May to 31st May across all its offices, project sites, and residential townships.
Sh. R. K. Vishnoi, Chairman and Managing Director, THDCIL, reaffirmed the organization’s strong commitment to maintaining clean and sustainable surroundings. He emphasized that Swachhata Pakhwada is not merely an annual campaign but a reflection of the organization's core values and its dedication to building a cleaner, greener India. This year’s initiative aims to instill a culture of cleanliness with a focus on weeding out old office files, ensuring hygienic work environments, and promoting personal cleanliness among employees.
Aligning with this vision, Sh. Sipan Kumar Garg, Director (Finance), THDCIL, administered the Swachhata Pakhwada Pledge to employees at the Corporate Office, Ganga Bhawan, Rishikesh. The pledge ceremony saw enthusiastic participation from employees, showcasing their collective resolve to contribute actively to the national cleanliness drive.
In his address, Sh. Garg encouraged employees to view Swachhata Pakhwada not just as a ceremonial activity, but as a deeply embedded responsibility. Sh. Garg emphasised that Cleanliness must be an integral part of our professional conduct and daily lives. We should take pride in keeping our workplaces and surroundings clean.
In alignment with this year’s theme, “Swachhata is Everyone’s Business,” THDCIL is undertaking a series of sustainable initiatives and awareness activities to engage not only employees but also communities in and around its operational areas.
Similar pledge ceremonies and cleanliness drives were organized at all project sites and unit offices of THDCIL, reinforcing the organization's inclusive and comprehensive approach to the Swachh Bharat Mission. In Tehri Project Sh. L. P. Joshi, ED(TC) administered the pledge to all the employees, in 1320 MW KSTPP Sh. Kumar Sharad, ED (Project) administered the pledge to the employees and motivated them to keep their surroundings clean and at 444 MW VPHEP Sh. Ajay Verma, (Head of Project) administered the pledge.
Similarly, Swachhata Pakhwada was inaugurated with Swachhata Pledge in other offices like NCR Office, Amelia Coal Mine Project, TUSCO Limited, TREDCO Rajasthan Limited etc.
Swachhta Pakhwada is an annual national campaign aimed at spreading the importance of cleanliness and hygiene among all sections of the society. In the coming days, Shramdaan, public awareness programmes, tree plantation and other cleanliness based programmes will be organised in the office premises and surrounding areas.
