As part of the ongoing Swachhata Pakhwada 2025, THDC India Limited’s Vishnugad-Pipalkoti Hydro Electric Project (VPHEP) organized a plantation drive at Government Junior High School, Siyasain, on 26th May 2025. The initiative aimed at fostering environmental awareness and promoting community participation in sustainability efforts.
The event was inaugurated with a symbolic planting of tree saplings by Sh. Ajay Verma, Head of Project (VPHEP), and Sh. K.P. Singh, General Manager (S&E/TBM), who emphasized the importance of such green initiatives in reinforcing THDCIL’s commitment to ecological balance and environmental stewardship.
On this occasion, Sh. Ajay Verma stated, “Swachhata is not just about cleanliness but also about restoring balance with nature. Through this plantation drive, we aim to contribute to a cleaner and greener environment for the generations to come. THDCIL remains committed to its environmental and social responsibilities, especially in the project-affected areas.”
Sh. K.P. Singh, GM (S&E/TBM), added, “Planting a tree is a small act with a big impact. Such activities are integral to our sustainability efforts under the Swachhata Pakhwada. They not only enhance the ecological footprint of the region but also instill environmental values among employees and youths.”
The plantation drive witnessed active participation from senior project officials and employees including Sh. P.S. Rawat (AGM I/c Power House), Sh. B.S. Pundir (AGM, Planning & Safety), Sh. V.D. Bhatt (Sr. Manager I/c HR&A), Sh. O.P. Arya (DGM, CO), Sh. Balbeer Gusain (Sr. Manager, Dam), and Sh. Y.S. Chauhan (Manager, PR).
