Rishikesh: 11th July 2023:- Sh. R. K. Vishnoi, Chairman and Managing Director informed thatTHDCIL achieved another significant milestone with the successful lowering of the Runner of Third Unit- U#7 (250 MW variable speed Pump Turbine) of 1000 MW Tehri Pumped Storage Project (PSP) project on 11thJuly 2023 at 10.00 hours. He stated that this remarkable milestone has brought THDCIL one step closer towards commissioning the Nation’s first Variable Speed Pumped Storage Project (1000 MW). The occasion was graced by Sh. Bhupender Gupta, Director (Technical), Sh. L.P. Joshi, Executive Director (Tehri Complex, APP), Sh. K.K. Singhal, CGM (MPS Rishikesh), Sh. A. K. Ghildiyal, CGM (Design Rishikesh), Sh. A.R. Gairola, GM (PSP-Civil), Dr. A.N. Tripathy, AGM (HRA, CC) and other senior officers of THDCIL GEPIL. Sh. Bhupender Gupta, Director (Technical) lauded the dedicated efforts of team THDC at Tehri PSP Project. Sh. Gupta, further reviewed the progress of the under-construction Tehri PSP Project. Sh. Vishnoi, Chairman and Managing Director, congratulated the entire team of PSP for putting their sincere concerted efforts towards the achievement of this milestone. He expressed satisfaction on the successful achievement of this activity. THDCIL is one of the premier power generators in the country with installed capacity of 1587 MW with commissioning of Tehri Dam HPP (1000MW), Koteshwar HEP (400MW) in Uttarakhand, Wind Power Projects of 50MW at Patan 63MW at Dwarka in Gujarat, 24MW Dhukwan Small Hydro Project, Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh and 50 MW Solar Power Project at Kasaragod, Kerala to its credit.
