Rishikesh- 30.12.2022:The closing ceremony of “4th Ranking and Open Canoe Sprint Senior (Men & Women) Championships” at Tehri Lake was organized today ITBP Campus, Koti Colony, Tehri-Garhwal in the gracious presence of Sh. Subodh Uniyal, Hon’ble Cabinet Minister, Uttarakhand. During the occasion, Hon’ble Cabinet Minister appreciated all the winners and players and said that the youngsters should be motivated to participate in these types of sports which will boost the sporting culture in India. During the occasion, Hon’ble MLA Tehri, Sh. Kishor Upadhyay was also present. In this event, team Madhya Pradesh is the winner with 195 points and team ITBP is the runner-up with 148 points. Total 31 teams participated in this sports event. Dr. D. K. Singh, Secretary General, Uttarakhand Olympic Association along with the officials from Uttarakhand Olympic Association were present during the ceremony. Sh. U. K. Saxena, ED(Tehri-Complex), Sh. L. P. Joshi, ED(PSP), and Dr. A. N. Tripathy, AGM (HR&A and CC),THDC India Limited were also present during the occasion of the closing ceremony of the 4th Ranking and Open Canoe Sprint Senior (Men & Women) Championships”. It is to mention that THDC India Limited in collaboration with the Kayaking and Canoeing Association of Uttarakhand , Indian Olympic Association, Uttarakhand Olympic Association and ITBP as technical partner has organized this 4th Ranking and Open Canoe Sprint Senior (Men & Women) Championships, (Tehri Water Sports Cup) from 28th December to 30th December 2022. Today, THDCIL is one of the premier power generators in the country with installed capacity of 1587 MW with commissioning of Tehri Dam & HPP (1000MW), Koteshwar HEP (400MW) in Uttarakhand,Wind Power Projects of 50MW at Patan & 63MW at Dwarka in Gujarat, 24MW Dhukwan Small Hydro Project, Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh and 50 MW Solar Power Project at Kasaragod, Kerala to its credit.
