Rishikesh, 26 June 2019: THDC India Limited (THDCIL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) defining the Performance Guarantee Parameters for the financial year 2019-20 with the Ministry of Power (MOP) in New Delhi on 26.06.2019. On behalf of the Ministry of Power, Sh. A.K. Bhalla, Secretary (Power), Govt. of India and on behalf of THDCIL, Sh. D.V. Singh, CMD signed the MOU in the presence of Sh. Anirudh Kumar, Joint Secretary (Hydro), MOP, Sh. Sunil Gautam, Director(Hydro), MOP, Sh. U.C Kannaujia, GM(NCR), THDCIL, Sh. R.N. Singh, GM(SP) Sh. Sandeep Checker, DGM, THDCIL, and other senior officials of MOP THDCIL.
Energy generation target of 4650 MU (for excellent rating) has been set for the year 2019-20. THDC India Limited has contributed 1000 MW in the Xth Five Year Plan from Tehri HPP and contributed 400 MW from Koteshwar HEP in XIth Five Year Plan in Hydro Sector. In the Renewable Sector, the Corporation has successfully Commissioned 02 Wind Power Projects in 2016-17 (50MW Patan 63 MW Dwarka in Gujarat) registering its presence in the Western Region of the country.
Since the commissioning of its first project viz. Tehri Dam Hydro Power Plant (THPP-1000 MW) a multipurpose project on the river Bhagirathi in 2006-07 and Koteshwar HEP (400 MW) in 2011-12, THDCIL is a profit-making organization and has generated 4687.78 MU energy till 31<sup>st</sup> March 2019. Tehri Dam project started with the status of a project of 'National Significance' during its planning stage and was successfully commissioned in spite of stringent opposition during its implementation.
THDCIL is one of the premier power generators in the country with an installed capacity of 1513 MW with commissioning of Tehri Dam HPP (1000MW), Koteshwar HEP (400MW) and Wind Power Projects of 50MW at Patan 63MW at Dwarka in Gujarat to its credit.
