1. Present installed capacity of THDCIL is 1587 MW having three Hydro, two Wind and one Solar Power Plant. THDCIL envisaged to add 2764 MW upto 2026-27 with anticipated commissioning of its three under construction power projects namely Tehri PSP (4x250 MW), Vishnugad Pipalkoti HEP (4x111 MW) and Khurja STPP (2x660 MW). The installed capacity of THDCIL is envisaged to be 4351 MW by the end of year 2026-27.
  2. THDCIL is developing 2000 MW Solar Power Parks in State of Uttar Pradesh, Jhansi (600 MW), Lalitpur (600 MW) and Chitrakoot (800 MW) through a Joint Venture Company namely ‘TUSCO Ltd’ between ‘THDCIL’ and ‘UPNEDA’ (a Unit/Agency of Govt.  of U.P) registered in Sep’2020 with equity participation in the ratio of 74:26. In-principle approval for 2000 MW Solar Power Parks has been accorded by ‘MNRE’.
  3. A JV Company named ‘TREDCO Rajasthan Ltd.’ between THDCIL and RRECL (Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Limited) has been incorporated in Mar’2023 for development of 10,000 MW Ultra Mega Renewable Energy Parks in the Rajasthan state.
  4. The work of preparation of DPR of the Project ‘Bokang Bailing HEP’ (165 MW) on river Dhauliganga (a tributary of Kali / Sarda river) in District Pithoragarh (Uttrakhand) is in progress.
  5. Under India-Bhutan Co-operation in Hydro Power Sector development, MOP allotted in Bhutan two Projects namely Sankosh Storage Project (2585 MW) and Bunakha HEP (180 MW) for updation of DPR as well as subsequent implementation on Intergovernmental Authority Model / JV with Bhutanese PSUs. DPR of both the projects have been submitted. 
  6. Further with an objective to explore future possibilities of energy generation from Renewable Sources, Energy Efficiency and Environmental Technologies an MoU has been signed between THDCIL and IREDA in Dec’2021 to collaborate in the field of renewable energy for a period of 5 years. 
  7. GoI has indicated six nos. Pumped Storage Projects (PSP) in Maharashtra. In addition, THDCIL has self-identified one project (PSP) in Maharashtra also, with a combined capacity of 7390 MW. PFRs for 6 projects (including 1 self-identified project) have been prepared.
  8. THDCIL is also trying to get power project 1305 MW Suusamyr-Kokomeren HPP in Kyrgyzstan. THDCIL has submitted draft of MoU to ‘Ministry of Power’(GOI) for its vetting from L&T division of MEA.
  9. THDCIL is planning to develop 3 Floating Solar Power Projects of total 464 MW on different Reservoirs in Uttar Pradesh allotted to THDCIL by IWRD, UP. Preparation of DPR for these projects has been submitted to Govt.of UP. The discussions are in progress for taking up these projects further.
  10. THDCIL has signed MoUs with Karnataka Power Corporation Limited (KPCL) and Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited (KREDL) in Nov’2023 for a diverse range of renewable energy projects totaling to 3270 MW including various Ground mounted, Roof top and Floating Solar PV Plant, PSP, Hybrid. THDCIL has initiated the process of PFR/ DPR preparation and land identification for solar/ floating solar plants development.
  11. Ministry of Power, GOI has accorded its 'In-principle' approval in Jan’2024, to form a JV with Karnataka Power Corporation Limited (KPCL) for implementation of Godhna TPP (2x800 MW) along with development of dedicated coal mines provided the administrative control of the JV remains with THDCIL. Subsequently, THDCIL is in process of formation of JV with KPCL. 
  12. THDCIL has also obtained Power Trading Licence under Category-IV for trading of electricity within India. 
  13. To promote the Govt. policy of Electrical Vehicle in India, THDCIL has signed an MoU with Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam Ltd. (GMVNL), Uttarakhand Govt., for installation of 14 Nos. Electric Vehicle Charging Stations on Char Dham Yatra Route of Uttarakhand. 
  14. THDCIL is also in process of implementing a Pilot Project for Carbon capture at Khurja STPP (2x660MW) with a newly emerging cost-effective Carbon capture technology. Based on outcome of this pilot project, the capacity shall be scaled up which shall help in removing majority of carbon-based emission (CO2, etc) from exhaust gases.
  15. 11 MW Floating Solar Power plant on raw water reservoir in Khurja STPP is under implementation.
  16. Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) for the implementation of the 1200 MW Kalai-II Hydro Electric Project in the Anjaw District of Arunachal Pradesh was signed between GoAR (Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh) and THDCIL in Dec’2023. Other Hydro Projects in Arunachal Pradesh with cumulative capacity of 5455.50 MW are being pursued for allotment.
  17. THDCIL and ‘Uttarakhand Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited’ (UJVNL) has entered into the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for development of Hydro Power Projects in Uttarakhand.  A JV named THDCIL-UJVNL ENERGY COMPANY LIMITED (TUECO Ltd.) has been incorporated under the Company Act,2013 in Dec’2023. Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttarakhand has granted the responsibility for the development of 05 Hydro Electric projects totalling 1719 MW in Uttarakhand to above newly incorporated JV Co during Energy Conclave-2023 in Dec’2023.
  18. THDCIL endeavours to undertake projects and participate in Govt. of India’s National Hydrogen Mission. Accordingly, a pilot project of ‘Green Hydrogen’ with 1 MW capacity (Electrolyser & Fuel-cell based micro-grid system) has been completed at THDCIL Office Complex, Rishikesh (Uttarakhand).
  19. THDCIL is also exploring Potential Floating Solar Power capacities in Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh, Kerala, Maharashtra and Karnataka.
  20. THDCIL is also exploring possibilities of development of Hydro Electric, Pumped Storage and Renewable Energy Schemes in various parts of the country as well as neighbouring Countries
