Rishikesh, 17-08-2024: Shri Sipan Kumar Garg assumed the charge of Director (Finance), THDC India Limited on 17, August 2024, at the THDCIL Kaushambi office.
Shri Garg is a distinguished professional in finance, holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons), Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) and was a rank holder in the Company Secretary examination. He is also a member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (CA), the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (CMA), and the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (CS).
With over 23 years of extensive experience in Finance, Accounts, Taxation, and Commercial aspects within the Power Sector, Shri Garg brings a wealth of knowledge to THDC India Limited. His previous roles include Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Aravali Power Company Private Limited and Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited, both subsidiaries of NTPC Limited. Additionally, Shri Garg has served in various capacities at NTPC Limited, including at the Corporate Accounts Group and Koldam Hydro Power Project.
Throughout his career, Shri Garg has demonstrated exceptional professional growth, characterized by his dedication, responsibility, and ethical approach. His leadership at Aravali Power Company Private Limited resulted in achieving the highest credit ratings and notable savings on long-term loan interest.
Shri Garg has also contributed to the accounting field through his participation in numerous workshops and seminars both in India and abroad, and has been a prominent speaker on Accounting Standards and Ind AS. He has served on various committees of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, including the Committee on Public Finance and Government Accounting, the Accounting Standards Study Group, and the Members in Industry Group (PSU).
