Rishikesh- 28.12.2022:“4th Ranking and Open Canoe Sprint Senior (Men & Women) Championships” at Tehri Lake inaugurated by Sh. R. K. Singh, Hon’ble Cabinet Minister of Power and New & Renewable Energy, Govt. Of India and Sh. Pushkar Singh Dhami, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttarakhand today at ITBP Campus, Koti Colony, Tehri-Garhwal. During the occasion, Hon’ble MoP said that all organizations should fully adopt at least one sport which will boost the sporting culture in India. He further said that a world-class sports training academy will be developed in Tehri. During the event, Hon’ble CM Uttarakhand said that hosting this event in Tehri will contribute to building the national image of Tehri dam at the national level. During the occasion, Hon’ble MP (Rajya Sabha) Sh. Naresh Bansal, Hon’ble MLA Tehri, Sh. Kishor Upadhyay, Hon’ble MLA PratapNagar, Sh. Vikram Sing Negi, Hon’ble MLA Devprayag, Sh. Vinod Kandari, Chairman District Council Tehri-Garhwal, Smt. Sona Sajwan along with Secretary Energy, GOUK, Sh. R. Meenakshi Sundaram, President, India Kayaking and Canoeing Association (IKCA), Sh. Prashant Kushwaha were present on the dice. Sh. R. K. Vishnoi, CMD, THDCILdelivered welcome address while Dr. D. K. Singh, Secretary General, Uttarakhand Olympic Association gave the vote of thanks. Sh. J. Behera, Director (Finance), Sh. L. P. Joshi, ED(PSP), Sh. U. K. Saxena, ED(Tehri-Complex) and Dr. A. N. Tripathy, AGM (HR&A and CC) were also present during the occasion. It is to mention thatTHDC India Limited in collaboration with the Kayaking and Canoeing Association of Uttarakhand , Indian Olympic Association, Uttarakhand Olympic Association and ITBP as technical partner is organizing 4th Ranking and Open Canoe Sprint Senior (Men & Women) Championships, (Tehri Water Sports Cup) from 28th December to 30th December 2022.
