Rishikesh, 12.11.2021:24th Inter Central Power Sector Undertakings (ICPSU) Carrom Tournament concluded at THDC India Limited (THDCIL), Rishikesh. The five-day ICPSU tournament played under the aegis of Power Sports Control Board, PSCB (MOP)was organized from 08th to 12th November, 2021. Sh. U. K. Saxena, ED (Tehri Complex) was the Chief Guest for the concluding day of the Tournament.While addressing the gathering during the closing ceremonySh. Saxena, ED(TC), THDCIL formally declared the tournament closed. He congratulated the winning teams and gave them medals. During his address, while stressing on the importance of sports he encouraged everyone to proactively contribute in promoting sports for wider National Interest. It is to mention that total 11Male teams and 9 Female teams of Power Sector viz. Ministry of Power(MOP), Central Electricity Authority (CEA),Bharkra Beas Management Board (BBMB), National Hydro Electric Power Corporation(NHPC), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL), Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd (SJVNL), Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC), North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited (NEEPCO), Power System Operation Corporation Limited (POSOCO), Power Finance Corporation (PFC) and host team THDC India Limited (THDCIL) participated in this tournament. On this occasion, Sh. Veer Singh, GM (HR) delivered the vote of thanks. In the tournament, Team CEA was the winner of Men’s Team events after defeating Team POSOCO, While in Women’s Team events, NEEPCO Team was the winner after defeating Team NHPC. In the Men’s Doubles, POSOCO Team was the winner after defeating Team CEA and in Women’s Doubles, PGCIL Team was the winner after defeating Team NHPC. While in Men’s Singles, Sh. M. P. Chamoli, MOP was the winner after defeating Sh. D. Saikia, NEEPCO and in Women’s Singles, Ms. Champa Bakshi, SJVNL got the first position after defeating Team Ms. Sudha Vij, PFC. Ms. Mehak Sharma, Sr. HR Officer managed the stage during the event. Today, THDCIL is one of the premier power generators in the country with installed capacity of 1587 MW with commissioning of Tehri Dam HPP (1000MW), Koteshwar HEP (400MW) in Uttarakhand, Wind Power Projects of 50MW at Patan 63MW at Dwarka in Gujarat, 24MW Dhukwan Small Hydro Project, Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh and 50 MW Solar Power Project at Kasaragod, Kerala to its credit.
