The raft concrete for the Butterfly Valve Chamber (BVC) of THDCIL’s 444 MW Vishnugad-Pipalkoti Hydro Electric Project (VPHEP) commenced on 31st July 2024. The Head of the Project and Chief General Manager, Sh. Ajay Verma, along with Sh. K.P. Singh (AGM (Incharge), TBM&PH), Sh. Ani Bhatt (DGM, TBM), and HCC Project Manager, Sh. Sajit Kumar, laid the foundation stone, marking a significant milestone in the ongoing construction project. This phase is crucial as it involves meticulous planning and precise execution to ensure the concrete raft can support the weight and operational stresses of the butterfly valve and its chamber.
On this occasion, Shri Verma said, “Achieving this milestone indicates that the project is progressing well and is now ready to move forward to the next phases. These include the installation of the valve and other associated components, as well as the erection work of ferrules of the upper horizontal penstock. This is another step ahead towards the completion of the VPHEP Project.”
