27th ICPSU Volleyball Tournament inaugurated at THDCIL Rishikesh, 21.01.2023:27th Inter Central Power Sector Undertakings (ICPSU) Volleyball Tournament inaugurated today at THDC India Limited (THDCIL), Rishikesh. The four-day ICPSU tournament is being organized under the aegis of Power Sports Control Board, PSCB (MOP) from 21st to 24thJanuary, 2023. Sh. J. Behera, Director (Finance) was the Chief Guest for the inauguration ceremony of the Tournament.While addressing the gathering during the ceremonySh. Behera formally inaugurated the tournament. He encouraged all the participating teams. During his address, hestressed on the importance of sports,he encouraged everyone to proactively contribute in promoting sports for wider national interest. On this occasion, Sh. Veer Singh, CGM (HR) delivered the welcome speech. It is to mention that total 10 teams of Power Sector viz. Ministry of Power(MOP), Central Electricity Authority (CEA),Bharkra Beas Management Board (BBMB), National Hydro Electric Power Corporation(NHPC), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL), Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd (SJVNL), Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC), Rural Electrification Corporation (REC), Power Finance Corporation (PFC) and host team THDC India Limited (THDCIL) are participating in this tournament. The fixture for this tournament will be: In Pool A, Team BBMB, PFC, MOP, THDCIL, PGCIL and in Pool B, Team SJVNL, CEA, DVC, REC, NHPC will be playing. During the first half of the tournament, in the match between THDCIL and PFC, Team THDCIL won by 2/0 and between SJVNL and CEA, team SJVNL won by 2/1. Today, THDCIL is one of the premier power generators in the country with installed capacity of 1587 MW with commissioning of Tehri Dam & HPP (1000MW), Koteshwar HEP (400MW) in Uttarakhand, Wind Power Projects of 50MW at Patan & 63MW at Dwarka in Gujarat, 24MW Dhukwan Small Hydro Project, Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh and 50 MW Solar Power Project at Kasaragod, Kerala to its credit.
