Rishikesh-02.03.2021: THDC India Limited (THDCIL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) on 02nd March 2021 at the Regional Office, Dehradun. The MoU is for rendering the technical services of THDCIL as “Technical Consultant” to study landslide susceptibility areas. THDCIL will suggest various mitigation measures on all the underdeveloped national highway stretches in the state of Uttarakhand especially leading to Chardhams including part of Kailash Mansarovar route. Sh. Atul Jain, General Manager - Design (Civil HM) of THDCIL signed the MoU with his counterpart from MoRTH, Sh. V.S. Khaira, Chief Engineer, Regional Office, Dehradun. THDC India Limited will adopt “State of the art technology” coupled with the conventional methods to tackle various complex issues related to the stabilisation measures for landslide vulnerable areas. THDCIL is also providing consultancy services to prevent the shooting stones and measures for rock fall protection to Shri Mata Vaishnodevi and Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine boards. This step by THDCIL and MoRTH will pave way for trouble-free movement of pilgrims and vehicles plying on national highways in Uttarakhand. During this signing ceremony, Dr. Niraj Kumar Agrawal-DGM (Design-Civil), Sh. Kailash Chandra Joshi- Sr. Manager (Design-Civil), Sh. Avkesh Kumar-Manager (Design-Civil), Sh. Amit Shyam Gupta, Manager (Design-Civil) from THDCIL and Sh. Saurabh Singh-Executive Engineer, Sh. Kapil Singh- Executive Engineer and Sh. Ankit, Assistant Executive Engineer from MoRTH were present. THDCIL is one of the premier power generators in the country with installed capacity of 1587 MW with commissioning of Tehri Dam HPP (1000MW), Koteshwar HEP (400MW), Wind Power Projects of 50MW at Patan 63MW at Dwarka in Gujarat, Dhukwan Small Hydro Project (24MW) at Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh as well as 50MW Solar Project at Karsargod, Kerala to its credit.
