World Environment Day (WED) was celebrated in the Corporate Office, Rishikesh with variety of activities targeting different stakeholders as under:

  1. Address by Chairman & Managing Director, THDCIL to entire THDCIL staff through VC Mode.
  2. Key note address & presentation by Prof Bihu Suchetana, IIT-Roorkee on Mission Life Themes.
  3. Address by Executive Director (Technical) and administered oath.
  4. Demonstration of film on THDCIL’s initiatives taken up under Mission LiFE.
  5. Distribution of Indoor Flower Plants and Jute Bags to participants.
  6. Nukkad Natak at crowed public place in Rishikesh.
  7. Nukkad Natak in THDCIL Campus, Rishikesh.

2. Vishnugad Pipalkoti HEP:

World Environment Day (WED) was celebrated as under:

  1. World Environment Day was celebrated on 05.06.2023 at Vishunad Pipalkoti Hydro Electric Project, Pipalkoti, district Chamoli, Uttarakhand.
  2. Various programs such as cleanliness campaign, awareness campaign, Jute Bag distribution etc. were organized.
  3. On the occasion of World Environment Day at VPHEP Pipalkoti project, the program was started by taking the oath of mission life.
  4. Speech of the Chairman and Managing Director was broadcasted through the VC mode.
  5. Project Head addressed the gathering with highlighting importance of Mission LiFe and Environment for life to survive on the planet.
  6. Lecture was followed by thetree plantation program organized in the Government Upper Primary School, located in the project premises, wherein, all participated enthusiastically. Jute Bags were distributed at the end of the programme.

3. Amelia Coal Mine Project (ACMP)

Following programmes were conducted during celebration of WED:

  1. Speech of Chairman and Managing Director was broadcasted through the VC mode.
  2. Awareness through videos regarding the introduction of Mission LiFE.
  3. Presentation about Environment Day and this year theme "#Beat the Plastic."
  4. Brief about Mission LiFE, emphasizing the importance of living a healthy, sustainable, and environment friendly lifestyle.
  5. CGM, ACMP commits to make the unit plastic-free and suggested various measures to achieve the goal.
  6. Pledge to save the environment and raise awareness among family, friends, and neighbours about environment friendly lifestyles.
  7. Plantation was carried out in the mining site by the CGM, GM, and other employees of ACMP.
  8. Awareness campaign among the workers in the mine.

4. Tehri HEP

Main activities during the WED were as under:

  2. Lecture by Prof. V.V. Subramanium on WED theme.
