Rishikesh-13.11.2024: THDC India Limited, a leading power generation Public Sector Undertaking (PSU), successfully organized the State-Level Painting Competition on Energy Conservation in Uttarakhand on November 13, 2024, at its Corporate Office in Rishikesh. The event was organized under the aegis of Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Ministry of Power, Government of India. Sh. R. K. Vishnoi, Chairman and Managing Director, THDC India Limited highlighted the significance of energy conservation and the role of such programs in raising awareness. He informed that the theme for this year’s competition was ‘Protect Nature's Gifts, Embrace Sustainable Shifts’ and ‘You have the power to save the power’, encouraging students to express their creativity through art while promoting the vital message of energy conservation.
Sh. Shallinder Singh, Director (Personnel), THDC India Limited extended his appreciation to the young artists for their exceptional creativity. He noted, “It is inspiring to witness such widespread participation from students in highlighting the critical issue of energy conservation. The artwork displayed today is not just creative expression; it is a powerful call to action, encouraging everyone to contribute to a sustainable energy future.”
Sh. Sipan Kumar Garg, Director (Finance) presided as the Chief Guest at the event. He congratulated the winners and participants, saying, “It is heartening to see the enthusiasm and talent of students across the state coming together for such an important cause.” He commended the efforts of all participants, their teachers, and the organizing team for making the event a success.
Sh. Garg presented prizes of Rs. 50,000/-, Rs. 30,000/- and Rs. 20,000/- to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd winners of both Group A (Classes 5th, 6th & 7th) and Group B (Classes 8th, 9th & 10th) of the competition along with 10 consolation prizes of Rs. 7,500/- each. This year, from Group A- Miss Christina, class 7th, St. Marry’s Sr. Sec. School, Jwalapur, Miss. Komal Rani, class 7th, Acharyakulam, Pantanajli Haridwar, and Master Saksham Vats, class 6th, A. B. N. Sr. Sec. School Roorkee won 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions while from Group B- Miss Bhawana Singh, Class 9th, Acharyakulam, Pantanajli Haridwar, Miss Aaruni Chauhan, class 10th, Mount Litera Zee School, Roorkee and Master Ritik Singh, class 9th, Bright Start International Academy won 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions and have earned the prestigious opportunity to represent the state in the national finals.
Sh. Garg informed that a total of 1,80,611 students from 304 schools of various districts of Uttarakhand participated enthusiastically in the state level competition organized by THDC, which was more than the number of 1,69,787 students of last year.
He also informed that the first three winners of both Group A and Group B will participate in the national level painting competition to be held in New Delhi. He also shared the achievement of last year where a participant from the state of Uttarakhand won the first prize in the prestigious national level painting competition held in Delhi under Group A category.
