Rishikesh, 02 January, 2017: Tehri Hydro Power Plant (THPP-1000MW) of THDC India Limited has been awarded with Award of Best Maintained Project category by Central Board of Irrigation and Power (CBIP) on 29th Dec. 2016 at SCOPE Convention Centre, New Delhi. Hon’ble MoS for Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, Govt. of India Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Balyan in the presence of Chairman Central Electricity Authority and Central Water Commission gave this award to THDCIL. Sh. P.P.S. Mann, ED(Tehri-Complex), Sh. H.L. Arora, ED(OMS, QA & Safety), and Sh. Rajeev Vishnoi, ED(Design) received the award on behalf of the THDCIL. CBIP had organized a Symposium on “Challenges in Development of Water Resources, Power and Renewable Energy Sectors” as part of CBIP day celebration and awards under different categories were also given to organizations working in water resources, power and renewable energy sectors. Sh. Praveen Saxena, AGM (OMS, QA & Safety) and Sh. Sandeep Checker, DGM(SP) were also present on this occasion. THDCIL is one of the premier hydro power generators in the country with installed capacity of 1450 MW with commissioning of Tehri Dam & HPP (1000MW), Koteshwar HEP (400MW) and 50MW Wind Power Project at Patan Gujarat to its credit and is bestowed with ‘Mini Ratna’ Category –I & Schedule ‘A’ Status.
